LifeScan Annie Campaign

Meet Annie.

Lifescan wanted to create a new visual campaign for their diabetes meter, the OneTouch Verio Reflect® meter. The main feature they wanted to showcase was that blood sugar readings can be more easily read and interpreted using colours.

Inspired by nature, they chose Annie – a chameleon that changes colours based on high or low blood sugar readings. We were asked for assistance in adapting this concept into their communications. The main challenge was to create a clear and consistent visual link between Annie and the main messaging.

Success depended on teamwork. We needed to work together with both client and printer / digital vendor to design and execute each piece effectively. We created an equity guide for the new campaign to ensure consistent look and feel across all messaging. At the same time (due to project timelines) we adapted the campaign to various pieces for print, digital, social media and video. French versions for all assets were created once English was finalized.

Coordinating a consistent look and feel while simultaneously finalizing the core equity guide required excellent communication and close attention to detail. It was important to make sure all teams were on the same page regarding brand rules and messaging.

The work was regarded as successful. The client was very happy. We have since been asked to extend the Annie campaign to various pieces for other localizations such as the US and Europe.
